TREATMENTS
Treatments
In shortWe coordinate six treatments: hair transplantation by Sapphire FUE or DHI, plus eyebrow, beard and moustache transplantation and hair mesotherapy. They are not alternatives to one another — each answers a different problem, and mesotherapy is not surgery at all. This page explains which is which, so that you arrive at the assessment already knowing what you are asking about.

The six
Which treatment answers which problem
Almost everyone arrives asking for “a hair transplant”. That is usually right, but not always, and the difference matters before you pay for anything. Read the one line under each treatment below and follow the link that describes your situation.
Hair transplant
The main procedure: your own follicles moved from the back and sides of the scalp into thinning or bald areas. Start here if you are unsure.
Sapphire FUE
FUE extraction with a sapphire blade opening the channels. Suits large continuous areas that have to be covered in one session.
DHI
Grafts placed directly with an implanter pen. Suits densifying between hair you still have, and working without shaving.
Eyebrow transplant
Single-hair grafts placed at a very flat angle. A small procedure where the design decides everything.
Beard and moustache
Filling gaps, scars or a patchy line. Up to around 3,000 grafts for a full beard.
Hair mesotherapy
Not surgery. Injections that support existing hair. It does not grow hair where the follicle is gone.
Sapphire FUE or DHI
What actually separates the two techniques
Both are FUE: in both, your follicles are taken one by one from the donor area at the back and sides with a 0.6–0.8 mm micropunch. The difference is entirely in how they go back in.
In Sapphire FUE, channels are opened first with a sapphire blade, then the grafts are placed into them. In DHI, an implanter pen opens and places in a single movement, so no channel is cut in advance. That one difference produces every practical consequence below.
| Sapphire FUE | DHI | |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | Opened first, with a sapphire blade | Opened and filled in one movement |
| Shaving | Normally full shave | Can often be done unshaven or partially |
| Best at | Large continuous areas in one session | Densifying between existing hair |
| Grafts per session | Higher — the wider area is the point | Lower — placement is slower per graft |
| Risk it avoids | Time out of the body is short | Existing hair is not cut by channel opening |
| Target density | 45–55 grafts/cm² | 45–55 grafts/cm² |
| Session length | 6–8 hours | 6–8 hours |
| Final result | 12–18 months | 12–18 months |
The same for all
What is identical in every one of these treatments
Whichever of the surgical treatments you end up having, the sequence is the same. Mesotherapy is the exception — it is a course of sessions, not an operation day.
-
01Before you travel
Photo assessment
Four photographs — top, front, side, back — and your basic medical history. You receive the plan and an itemised written quotation before anything is booked.
-
02Day 1
Examination and design
Blood tests. The hairline is drawn against your facial proportions and age, and the graft distribution is decided. Nothing proceeds without your agreement to the drawing.
-
03Day 2 · morning
Extraction
Grafts are taken one by one with a 0.6–0.8 mm micropunch, sorted under magnification and held in cooled storage solution.
-
04Day 2 · afternoon
Placement
Angle, direction and depth are set here, graft by graft. Single-hair grafts go at the front, multi-hair grafts behind them — that is how density is reached without a hard-looking hairline.
-
05Day 3
First wash and departure
The first wash is demonstrated, you are given the aftercare products and written instructions, then the transfer to the airport.
-
06Months 1 · 3 · 6 · 12
Follow-up
Four scheduled follow-ups by photograph. The shedding phase in weeks 2–8 is expected and is not a failure; new growth starts around months 3–4.

How many grafts do you actually need?
Send four photographs and you will receive your donor capacity, an estimated graft count, the technique that suits you and an itemised written quotation. There is no charge and no obligation.

Honest limits
What this page cannot decide for you
Everything above is general information. Four things can only be settled after your donor area has been examined, and no website — ours included — can settle them from photographs alone:
- Whether you should have surgery at all. If your loss is still progressing quickly and the cause has not been established, transplanting into a moving target produces a result that looks wrong in three years.
- How many grafts your donor area can give. Donor capacity is finite and it is spent once. A graft count quoted before examination is an estimate, not a commitment.
- Which technique suits your case. The comparison above tells you what the techniques do; which one applies to your scalp is a clinical judgement.
- Whether one session is enough. Some plans are two sessions from the start, and saying so early is more honest than discovering it afterwards.
Recovery
The timeline is the same for every scalp procedure
| Period | What happens |
|---|---|
| Days 1–3 | Swelling and redness. The first wash is done with you before you fly home. |
| Days 4–10 | Crusts form and come away with the prescribed washing routine. Do not pick them off. |
| Weeks 2–8 | The transplanted hairs shed. This is expected. The follicle stays; the shaft is what falls out. |
| Months 3–4 | New growth starts, fine and uneven at first. |
| Months 6–9 | Density builds and the hairline starts to read as yours. |
| Months 12–18 | The final result. Judging the outcome before month twelve is judging it too early. |

Cost and next steps
What it costs, and where to go from here
Our packages run €2,000 – €3,000. The price follows the package — technique, accommodation, transfers and scope — not a per-graft rate. The cost page sets out what is inside each package and what moves the figure.
Before you compare us with anyone, it is worth knowing what the paperwork means. Our health tourism authorisation is AK-0604, Turkish Ministry of Health; our travel agency licence is 14296, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Both are published on the documents page, and the page also explains how to check any other provider’s.

Frequently asked questions
Which treatment should I choose?
For a receding hairline or a thinning crown, hair transplantation — by Sapphire FUE or DHI depending on the area and on whether you want to avoid shaving. For eyebrows or a beard, the dedicated procedure. Mesotherapy is not an alternative to any of them; it supports hair you still have. Which applies to you is decided after your donor area has been examined.
Is DHI better than Sapphire FUE?
Neither is better. They answer different questions. DHI places grafts directly with an implanter pen, which suits densifying between existing hair and working without shaving. Sapphire FUE opens channels first, which suits covering a large continuous area in one session. Density, session length and time to the final result are the same for both.
Can I have more than one treatment on the same trip?
Often yes — a beard or eyebrow procedure can sometimes be combined with a scalp session. Whether it should be depends on the total graft count and on your donor capacity, which is finite. The physician decides after examination.
How many grafts will I need?
It depends on the area and on what is still growing there. A typical session is 2,000–4,500 grafts. The number for your case comes out of the assessment of your photographs; a figure given without an assessment tells you nothing.
Will hair mesotherapy save me from needing a transplant?
It can support hair that is still there and it can help after a transplant. It does not grow hair where the follicle is gone. Any page that tells you otherwise is describing something mesotherapy cannot do.
Do I have to shave my head?
For Sapphire FUE, normally yes. DHI can often be done unshaven or with only the donor area shaved, which is one of the main reasons people choose it. Whether an unshaven session is realistic for your graft count is a clinical judgement.
How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?
Three nights. Day one is examination and design, day two is the operation, day three is the first wash and departure. The follow-ups at months 1, 3, 6 and 12 are done by photograph — you do not travel again for them.
Who actually performs the operation?
The physicians of our clinic. We handle the whole process: assessment, the operation, travel, accommodation, interpreting and follow-up. The physician who will operate on you is named in your written quotation before you book.
