Why people ask this question at all

If the same procedure costs several times more at home, the natural suspicion is that something is being left out. That is the right instinct, and it deserves a real answer rather than a brochure.

The short version: the instruments and the technique are not what differ. Punches, sapphire blades and implanter pens cost the same wherever they are bought, and the method is the same one described in the international literature. What differs is the cost structure around them, and the fact that Istanbul clinics do this one operation at a volume almost nowhere else matches.

That is an honest advantage. It is also not a guarantee of anything, because volume exists at both ends of the market — the careful end and the careless end. The rest of this page is about telling them apart.

Where the price difference actually comes from

Our packages run €2,000 – €3,000, and that figure covers the operation, three nights of accommodation, all transfers, coordination and twelve months of follow-up. The full breakdown is on the cost page. Four structural reasons put it where it is:

• Staff and facility costs in Turkey are structurally lower than in Western Europe, the UK or North America.
• Istanbul centres run high volumes of this single procedure, and specialisation lowers the cost per case.
• Prices are set in euros against local costs, so the exchange rate works in your favour.
• Travel, accommodation and coordination are bundled into one package, which removes the margin each separate supplier would otherwise add.

Why we do not publish other countries’ prices

You will find pages comparing Turkey with Germany, the UK or the United States in a neat table. We do not publish one, because we cannot verify what a clinic in another country would quote you, and a comparison table built on numbers we cannot check would make everything else on this page worth less.

Regulation

What the licensing actually means

Turkey regulates health tourism in two separate places, and confusing them is the single most common way people get misled.

• The health facility must hold its own licence to perform the procedure. This is the licence that matters medically.
• The intermediary — the organisation that arranges your travel, accommodation and appointments — needs a separate health tourism authorisation. Ours is AK-0604, issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health. We also hold a Group A travel agency operating licence.

We are the second of these, not the first. We are a health tourism intermediary, not a hospital. The assessment and the operation are carried out in a licensed partner facility, by that facility’s physicians. We say so plainly on every page, because it determines who is responsible for what — and an organisation that blurs this line is telling you something.

The four questions to ask anyone

• Does the organisation hold a health tourism authorisation, and what is the number?
• Where will the operation take place, and is that facility itself licensed?
• Who performs it — a physician — and is that stated in writing before you pay?
• What happens after you fly home? Ask for the follow-up schedule in writing.

1. 01Before you travel

   Photo assessment

   Four photographs — top, front, side, back — and your medical basics. You receive the plan and a written offer before booking anything.

2. 02Day 1

   Arrival and assessment

   Airport pickup and transfer. Blood tests, hairline design and graft planning at the facility. Nothing proceeds without your agreement.

3. 03Day 2

   The operation

   6–8 hours under local anaesthesia, in one day, with breaks. Carried out by the physicians of the partner facility.

4. 04Day 3

   First wash and check

   The first wash is done for you and demonstrated, the post-operative check is carried out, aftercare products and written instructions are handed over, then the airport transfer.

5. 05Months 1–12

   Follow-up

   You send photographs at months 1, 3, 6 and 12 and receive an answer. This schedule is written into the offer.

Three nights, language support throughout, and all transfers between airport, hotel and facility are part of every package. The third night exists for the first wash and the check — flying home before them means leaving without anyone having looked at the result of the work.

Honest limits

What coming to Turkey does not solve

Travelling changes the price and the logistics. It does not change biology, and it is worth being clear about what stays the same wherever you go.

• Your donor area is the limit. It is finite and does not regenerate. No country, price or technique adds hair that is not there.
• A transplant does not stop ongoing loss in the untreated areas around it. That is managed separately, and it may need managing for years.
• The result takes 12–18 months. Nothing about travelling shortens that.
• Follow-up happens at a distance. Ours is scheduled at months 1, 3, 6 and 12 and done by photograph. If something needs to be seen in person, that means travelling again — ask any provider how they handle it before you book, not after.
• A second session is possible, most often because loss continues around the transplanted area. Whether it is likely is something the assessment can indicate, and it should be said before the first one.
